  1. it depends on contry.

  2. Time Zone lines run North to South, the whole way. The Eastern part of the United States shares a time zone with the west part of South America.

  3. the sun rises in the east , so the futher east you travel the earlier it gets . so longitude is north and south and latitude is east and west , I think you will find that south america is further east than  the US , thats without looking at a map ,meaning that it is a different time in the us than south america

  4. depends what country...

    LOS ANGELES 12:00 P.M.

    BRAZIL: 4:00 P.M.

  5. That would depend on east coast or west coast of each.

If you are at the same longitude then you are in the same time zone.

  6. Not in the Eastern Time Zone. The time in Tampa, Providence, & Kalamazoo is the same in Lima, Cartagena, & Quito. It's a hr L8r in Caracas, Santiago, & La Paz, & 2 hrs L8r in São Paulo, Brasilia, & Buenos Aires.

  7. Well, it depends on where you are in the US, and where you are in South America.

The whole world is split into 24 time zones. Some nations on separate continents overlap. For example, Eastern Time in the US overlaps with the time in Venezuela, in South America. Here is a link to a map so you can look for yourself:

I hope that helps explain it a bit.

  8. It's always useful to check the difference on the following page http://www.uhrzeit.org/weltzeit.php3

  9. see:

  10. Depends on the country, like some people have said.

I know Tijuana and San Diego have the same time most of the time. I think America's recent changes to Daylight Savings Time messed that up a little.

  11. yes, some parts are Central and some are Eastern Time in south America

  12. I live in Vermont and it is the same time in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

  13. Of course....USA alone has 4 different ones (excluding Hawaii and Alaska).

South America I believe does not participate in Daylight Savings...so times in our summer and winters do differ ....

refer to the links provided by the many responders on your thread =)
