  1. I'll pick out a few lines from the piece I wrote when some dotish person tell me I'm not a Trini because I wasn't born there.....it is more than seven but you ever know a Trini to follow directions? ;-)

I am intimately acquainted with the beauty of the island that is Trinidad.

I have literally stood in awe of the huge waves that crash down at Maracas Bay.

I took in the majesty of the Northern Range on my way into Port-of-Spain each day.

A sunset from the lookout on the Lady Young is unrivaled.

A trip down the islands is as close to Paradise as you can hope to get.

Our music warms me. Our rhythms call to me. I yearn for it.

It is impossible for me to hear it and not move or be moved.

They say your home is where your heart is…..my heart will eternally be in Trinidad.

My passion lies in all things Trinidadian.

My soul lives in the Northern Range, and the Caroni and the San Fernando Hill, even if my body does not.

I genuinely love my country, my culture and my people.

  2. The Mighty Sparrow is my father. Lord Shorty and Calypso Rose my godparents.

My swaddling clothes are red, white and black.

My heart beats with wild anticipation every time I fly into Piarco and it breaks into pieces every time I have to leave.

My nightly lullaby has been the strains of sweet steel bands and I have awakened to the song of the kisedee.

My mouth has watered at the very thought of chenette and  experienced  a serious tabanca for long mango.

I cringed and danced around and bawl dong de place while holding out my hand for licks in school.

I love the country of my birth and my heart swells with pride every time I hear my National Anthem.

I stand in awe of the beauty and creativity of its' people.

I love Trinidad and Tobago and will be buried doing the same.
