Is time travel possible in the near future??

Time travel is definitely possible but it will likely not be realistic for hundreds and possibly thousands of years.  Why?  Because the there are only a few ways to travel in time and most of them are impossible and the others are not at this time practical.

  For example, traveling at the speed of light would theoretically allow you to travel back in time.  However E=MC2 forbids this because traveling at the speed of light would require an infinite amount of energy.

The best bet for time travel would probably be a wormhole.  At the moment the construction of a stable wormhole is not a practical idea.  If the wormhole leaked the matter used to keep the wormhole open, the time traveler would experience a very unpleasant death.  

So to sum it up time travel is possible but will probably not be for hundreds of years.  But who knows, before you die the human race may be making advances into time travel.  Hope this has helped to clear things up for you.
