No its not bad for you, it doesn't cause dementia, and Insects don't avoid going near soybeans, where are you getting all this totally 'lost in space' information.  Get yourself a Japanese Cookbook and practise your tofu recipes, they are simple and nutritious and yummy.

Soy is a relatively new crop in much of the world, and so the spread of insects that eat soy crops has only begun to spread throughout in recent years. There's a lag, simply put, and that's probably the reason for the myth.

Tofu and soy are in fact extremely healthy and have numerous benefits beyond those of ordinary protein sources like meat.

not necessarily but too much is bad particulary combined with a vegan diet with alot of soymik consumption. TOfu should also be cooked, otherwise the phytic acid it in will intefere with  nutrient asorption. Too much of anything is bad but it doesnt cause dementia.

Too much of it can be bad. But, no matter what anyone says, there's almost always research about a food that just so happens to be bad for you. Everything eventually becomes part of that category, so we all just have to be careful how we eat and what we eat. A vegetarian doesn't have to always have soy milk or soy products, just like a meat eater shouldn't always eat meat day and night. Show me any proof that there is food out there that doesn't cause something bad in your body. Even water can kill you if you're not careful.
