  1. In our area hard to service... They are usually MUCH less costly than other brands,,, most likely a reason why. I run Yamaha ONLY. When you are on the water, I want to know I have the most reliable option on the back of my boat.

  2. I had a 140hp 2 stroke Tohatsu for 4 years. It was super reliable, started first kick hot or cold. Service spares were never a problem. They are very popular with emergency services in Australia purely from a reliability point of view. Note also that some of the Mercury motors now are re-badged Tohatsu...

  3. Nissan outboards are relabeled Tohatsus. So are Mercury 30HP and under 4-stroke models.

  4. These small outboards tend to run forever! This company has a good reputation in the international community for product support.  So, if this motor meets your needs, I'd buy it.  You might ask for spare parts like spark plug, etc.   P.S. I'm not a dealer or salesman so this is just my best advise.

  5. it'll be great until it breaks down (which it will, because it's an outboard).  Then you can't get parts.
