  1. He will be driving the 14 in honor of  A.J. Foyt.

Sorry, I couldn't say if they are using the 66 or 70 cars.

  2. Tony can use provisional starts as a past champ so he will probably take the lower team.  They use Hendrick cars.  That wont change.  They obviously don't have the ability to set up the cars correctly at this time.  Look for some big changes at the shop and crew chiefs.

  3. I think it'll be the #66. But then again with his PC Provisional he could use the #70 as well. I think it'll become clearer once the 2nd driver is picked.

  4. Announced yesterday, Tony will drive the #14, color red, sponsors are Office Depot and Old Spice.  He picked the #14 because A.J. Foyt was his hero growing up, and #14 was A.J.'s #.

  5. If the 66 is in the top-35 at the end of the season, expect Tony to take the 70's owner points.  Tony will be the most recent Champion, therefore will get the Past Champion's Provisional if he fails to qualify.  Giving his other driver the 66's owner points will lock BOTH cars into the field (provided the 66 is in the top-35).

Even if the 66 is out of the top-35, I would expect Tony to take the OPs from the 70 car.  This protects both teams if qualifying is rained out in the first 5 races.

I would assume they are going to build many new cars.  As for the current cars, they have to fit the tight templates, so it really doesn't matter.  The set up is what matters.  Besides, some teams use cars with multiple drivers.  I know Roush has taken a car that one driver has ran and another runs it with their number later in the season.

  6. Tony's going to be driving the #14.  He'll probably take the owners' points of the highest team at the end of the season.  As for chassis, it's hard to say.  Perhaps they could build an all-new one, or go with whichever one is in the best shape.

  7. It'll probably be the old #70, which is out of the top 35 in owner's points, Tony will use his championship provisional to guarantee himself a spot in the race. The #66 will probably make it back into the top 35 in owner's points, so the other driver will be guaranteed a spot in the race. They'll probabl build all new chasis for both drivers.

Tony picked the #14 because that was the number of his racing hero, A. J. Foyt.

  8. At this moment they're saying it's the 66. But unlike one of the other answers very wrong answer, if the 66 gets back in the top 35 and the 70 doesn't, he will take the 70's points, because he will be guaranteed in with his past champion provisionals. The only way he would take the highest points is if they both made it in the top 35 or they both missed the top 35.
