  1. Ive lived all over Canada and I have to say Toronto is my fav because its extremely urban, vibrant, multicultural, and it has something for everyone. It is one of the most safe Large cities in North America. Your gonna find alot of Filipinos and other Asian communities. more than 14% of the city is of Asian descent.

candleduck- To even compare Toronto to montreal, victoria,Ottawa or Quebec city or Halifax is ignorant and like comparing cookies to cake, they are totally different and it is all based on your taste. Toronto is the most urban of all Canadian cities and you seem to like the suburbs. We also have a lower crime rate than all the places you mentioned. HA!!

  2. People are very nice, and Toronto is the world's most multicultural city. It's amazing how so many different people can get along so well.

  3. HA! sorry,

    1. Expensive 1-2 bdr apt $1000 +

    2. full of yuppies mostly, but overall decent, very diverse,

main religion would be chrsitianity but they have a large jewish populationa but it is a very multi cultural city so you will find people of every origin and worshipping/practicing their own spirituality literally A-Zed

    3. Bitterly cold in winter (-20 celsius), Hot and humid in summer ( 30 with 35+ humidex)

    4. CN tower, Much Music, the rogers centre (skydome), Kensington market, china town,

    5. You get criminals of all walks of life, keep your wits about you and be careful at night, alot of people will say that jane and finch isnt bad and it isnt as bad as other places but still be careful, regent park isnt great either.

    6. civil engineering - check out the U of T or Ryerson

But really, Toronto? look at montreal or victoria or Ottawa or Quebec city or Halifax, well maybe not Halifax but really Toronto?

  4. 1. expect to pay at least $500/month for rent, its expensive, especially in downtown toronto.  Try to find a place with cool roomates that go to your univeristy/college.

    2. People are awesome!  Toronto is the most culturally diverse city in the world.  Everyones very accepting. Im actually half phillipino also.

    3. Ive heard its pretty clean compared to other major cities in North America (but certainly not the cleanest)

    4.  Theres so much to do downtown, bars everywhere, clubbing district, major league hockey/basketball etc, tourist attractions (cn tower, ROM, all that..)

    5. Im pretty sure crime rate is pretty good compared to other major North American cities.  I feel safe walking home at night.  Depends on what area you live in  also.

    6.  I go to Ryerson, I know engineerings not the best there.  Dont know about U of T or the other colleges.   Look into Waterloo's engineering program.

  5. Toronto has three university's but I believe that only one of them has an engineering school.  The city has the most ethnically divers population on earth.  You will have no trouble finding restaurants, grocery stores and cultural institutions for Philipinos.  The city has an extensive park system down the river valleys.  While there is still room for improvement the crime rate is not that high.  Buying a house has gotten quite expensive but rent can still be manageable.
