  1. The gentleman above has said it all.

It's how ya get there that counts..........................

  2. some people just dont like to fly...

  3. Depending on where you are, you can get rail passes that allow you to travel extensively for one price.  Europe has several good deals on these passes.

Trains are a lot more accessible there, so if you want to travel by train Europe is the place to go.

Plus, you see the countryside and don't just fly over it.  I loved taking the train in Germany...

  4. Uhhh no!

I didn't know you can fly from New Haven to New York for less than a Metro North ticket, and in less time. Probably because..you can't! Commuter rail serves millions every day.

If you're referring to long distance that is another matter, but name me one airline in the US that will give you a private room with beds and a shower and a dining table in the dining car? You can't. Do these airplanes have lounge sections with rotating seats and big windows? No. Do they operate on other airlines "tracks"? No. So you will pay for what you get. You may get there faster by plane, but when you get there, you'll be cramped, hungry, smelly, and tired - and all you will have seen are the tops of clouds. Whoopee.

  5. in a train it takes longer then a plane but there is usually more room to move around. plus u can usually get a snack when ever u want

  6. in australia, yeah it is generally cheaper to fly everywhere. plus you dont have to be on it anywhere near as long.

i guess some people like trains, they dont like to fly, or they are pensioners and get cheap tickets.
