Question:

Is transferring courses taken in Canada to US transcript necessary?

I am a Canadian attending college in California as an 'international student'. In 2001 and 2003 I took some courses at a Canadian university, but I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with my education, so they were general.

I have been going to school in the US full-time for a couple of years now, and I have worked really hard for my GPA of 3.98. Once I transfer my grades from Canada, my GPA will decrease... does anyone know if I am obligated to include those courses in my transcript when applying to university (UCLA, hopefully)? I would prefer to just pretend they never existed... :)

  1. You should put on your application that you have earned those credits, but they don't have to be transferred to your new transcript. Often times, transferring in credits to a new school will cost you anyway, so don't worry about it.
