For the last year, my children have been picked up at the corner of our street. Today, I get a letter from the bus driver saying that we are no longer part of their school district and that while they will continue to bus my children to school, they will have to walk almost a mile to take a different bus to school. Taking them is not an option, because my job requires me to be at work an hour before the bus comes to get them. And this action will take place in exactly two days.

  1. yeah I live almost 2 miles from my school and my 5 year old is expected to walk because it is under 2 miles. It is a busy road where people have been known to have been hit. Also the average temperature in November through February is 30 below. Are they insane?

The old lady on the phone said,"in my day we walked 30 miles to school..." I called her a liar and hung up. I hadn't said my name yet.  Seriously, are they insane? The bus goes right by here and isn't even half full but they are refusing my son transportation because we live "too close" I would like them to walk 4 miles to a long boring hard day a long a busy road in 30 below weather when i hurts to run from the house to a car. I am ready to lose my mind.

  2. ,.,.

  3. I would say it's mandatory. They might be required to provide school buses. After all, taxpayers are paying for their kids education.
