  1. I live in Bradenton and as of right now it's a very big possibility that it is going to hit us. When it hits land, it will be a hurricane not a tropical storm anymore. It's still too early to tell, but it's definitely something that we need to prepare for.

  2. Get the latest news, video and photos of Tropical Storm Fay from local Florida news outlets on http://www.USAMediaGuide.com

  3. Who knows, tropical storms are not as bad as hurricanes, i lived in Fl. for several yrs. been there done that, if i were them i`d come to NJ. anyway for several reasons one it being cooler

  4. I don't think it will be that bad.. just keep watching the news.

  5. I live in the Tampa Bay area, not too far from Bradenton.  It will hit us here but it shouldn't be too bad.  As of right now, they're having trouble predicting exactly which way it will go.  It may go straight up the gulf coast or it might swing east and go more into inland Florida.  Either way we'll get the wind and rain, maybe some minor flooding but I wouldn't be too worried.  I'm watching The Weather Channel right now and maximum winds are 60mph, and it's not showing signs of getting stronger.

Also, kmbail89's answer isn't entirely true... once a hurricane or tropical storm hits land, it becomes weaker, not stronger.  Hurricanes and tropical storms feed off of warm ocean water, which is why when they hit the mainland United States they start to dissipate.
