  1. The genetic testing was only done very recently. It confirmed once and for all that all the children were killed. This final conclusion was reached 90 years after the fact.

  2. No, they all got snuffed out.

  3. None survived, genetic testing was done and all the people's remains were accounted for.

It was in the news a few months ago as a matter of fact.

  4. No.  Legend.  nothing more than the hopes of a few people who spread the rumor and it has been kept alive for almost a century!  (longer than any of the Romanovs lived!)

  5. Yes.They live next door.I wish they'd stop playing dodge the bullet.

  6. I was at the family's funeral back in 1998ish in St. Petersburg, when they were finally brought home from Eketerinburg, and all of the bodies (in part) were present.  For some reason, we named our children Stasya and Alyosha, which are the short forms of the formal names, Anastasia and Aleksei.  So in that way they do live, only without the Romanov last name.  If you're interested in the amazing culture of Russia, the following link might interest you:

  7. None survived. All of the bodies have been identified now.Since May of this year, the last two bodies have been identified as the "missing" Crown Prince Alexi and his sister,Grand Duchess Maria.DNA from a known descendant,Prince Philip,Duke of Edinburgh, was used to identify the remains of the entire Russian Royal Family. The bodies of the family were first unearthed in 1991.It was only recently that people realized that some unidentified partial remains they had belonged to  two different people;the use of DNA confirmed it.

  8. For a very long time it was thought that Princess Anastasia survived. There was a woman living in Brazil claiming to be Anastasia. She was exposed as a hoax. There were no surviors from the Russian royal family.

  9. According to the reports from the DNA findings, all of the Russian Royal family were murdered by the Bolsheviks. There were no survivors.

  10. People wanted to believe that Anastasiya and Alexej survived. But unfortunately it was not possible. All of the members were brutally killed.

  11. Sorry to tell you, but none of the kids survived. It was believed for a long time that at least two of them did ( Alexis and Anastasia, but the finding of the two bodies in seperate graves but at the same site, put paid to that hope. There were a lot of strange things happening at that time and many people had their own reasons to have at least one of the Romanov royal family alive, but there were none surviving that night

  12. It was conjectured for a long time that Anastasia survived; there was a woman who was brought forward in her late teens, early 20s by a worker who had helped bury the family, claiming that he had rescued her and raised her to be his wife.  there was evidence that she'd had at least two children, and scars from bullet wounds. that. and she looked a great deal like Anastasia would have when grown.

however, the members of the royal family that managed to escape never did fully accept her as being the real princess, though her grandmother was convinced until the day she died that this was indeed her granddaughter.

Part of the reason they didn't want to accept her as the princess is because the family was living off of the accounts the czar had had in foriegn banks. If she was indeed the princess, she would have had full claim to all the money and they would be left with nothing.

A good site about her -http://www.royalty.nu/Europe/Russia/Anas...
