  1. Tulum is actually a ruins place, yes it is close to the mayan riviera and it's also close to Chichen Itza -a larger site of ruins-, it is so very beautiful to visit, I recommend you to make some research on the net about these two historical places so you can enjoy them even more when being there.

The weather is very hot and July is fine to visit but be prepared to feel like in a permanent oven, lol, it's okay.

    Enjoy Mexico ;)

  2. Yes, Tulum has great ruins and is a short drive to Riviera Maya.  Dreams Tulum is a nice all-inclusive resort that would be perfect for a honeymoon.  Otherwise, there are wonderful places in Riviera Maya and Playa Del Carmen (Paraiso de la Bonita is my favorite).  Xel-ha is fun water park where you can swim with dolphins and snorkel, and if you should definately check out the cenotes all around the area.  Dive Angelita if you are scuba certified.  I hope this helps.

    Enjoy!!!

  3. tulum has ruins and yes it is close to riveria maya and july is a perfect time to go but put alot of sunscreen or else you'll get burned bad trust me i got burned really bad

  4. Tulum is, actually, an archeological site in the beach (unique), those are mayan ruins IN the riviera maya.

July is a great time to visit, only becareful to avoid the direct sun, and it could be a little hot.
