Should I use turbo tcp when running voip?

  1. turbo tcp will have effect only on TCP based traffic, however most VOIP traffic will be send over RTP (real-time transport protocol)  which is carrier by UDP (user datagram protocol is used) in most cases. UDP is stateless protocol (no ACK/retransmits) so turbo tcp will not influence VOIP directly.


  2. Only if you generate a lot of traffic.  Turbo TCP is a  technology to set priorities for specific traffic types.

    If you are using VoIP over an Internet connection it is more likely that delay or jitter will be caused further upstream.
