  1. A TV license covers all the TV sets at one address, except where a house has been divided into separate rented rooms, flats or apartments, etc.  In which case a TV license is required by each separate tenant thereof etc.

This next link will help explain everything you ever wanted to know about the UK TV License. . . . .

Here's something from TV back in the 1970s - don't blame me if this makes your sides split - I'm still laffing now and will any of us ever fly again?

  2. Its like this:

If you live in a house as a family or in a shared house where all the tenants sign one tenancy agreement, you only pay for one license.

If you live in a shared house where there are seperate tenancy agreements for each individual in the house, there must be a license for each television.

  3. Doesnt matter how many tvs you have in your home, you pay one very expensive licence fee, which should be scrapped anyway!!!

  4. NOT one property - one HOUSEHOLD - but this covers you for having a portable set in your OWN caravan as well as however many sets you have at home.

  5. depends,,,if u are a student and live in a flat(several flats in 1 house),,,each needs a licence,

if you live in a house then only 1 licence is required..a tv licence covers tv/radio/and car radios altogether

  6. The license is per household, including temporary use at another location.  If the one location is flats, then each flat needs a license.  If it is one household then only one license.

  7. Just one licence per property - at the moment.  There is talk of charging us all for every tv we have, but its not happened yet.
