She already knows about "it."

And is quite a mature reader. She loves to read books and I think that it might be okay for her to read it, but I'm not exactly sure.

  2. Its a good fantasy book for girls of all ages... most people tend to hate it though..

  4. Definitly, it's not a very graphic book at all.

  5. "Twilight" is not okay for anyone. The books suck. Try to have her read the classics. It's a much better choice.

  6. The first two but maybe not the third!

It would be up to you.

  7. Yes, you should definitely read it. It's about true love: It doesn't involve anything too graphic so you'll be okay with it.

    You'll love it.

    xx

  8. I think so, i probably could have read it when I was eleven.

Just have her wait for Breaking Dawn.

  9. oh yeah, but the fourth one is a little graphic and it has a lot more s*x then all the other ones, but they don't go into too much detail, with the s*x at least

  10. they are definitely okay for her

  11. defo!! it's amazing and it's not one of those gory stuff so it should be fine.

    But beware...

it's kinda addictive and you can get obsessive!! ;)

    x

  12. yeah, she can read it...but i would hold off awhile for breaking dawn...and in that case Some things she just might not understand

  13. Yes, probably. Although some of the words might be hard for an 11 year old to understand.

  14. I think so. But I would really wait til she was 12 or 13.

  15. Personally, I don't find twilight interesting at all- but it's totally fine for an 11 year old to read. :)

  16. www.twilightsex.com is perfectly fine

  17. I agree with the person who said have her read the classics, twilight sounds like absolute brain rotting garbage.

  18. Um..... yes it is ok for a mature 11 year and it doesn't have a lot of s*x in it

  19. yeah you can read it.there isn't anything in the first book except kissing.i haven't read the others so I'm not sure abt them

  20. Yes. I read Twilight when I was ten and it was and is my favorite series, i didn't find it disturbing at all, i think you'll love it. Breaking Dawn might be a little weird though...

  21. Go to amazon.com and look at the very first review.

That will tell you all you need to know about this book series.

    Which is that it's c**p.

  22. I agree with s d it's really not a good book for anyone, have her read "The Vampire Diaries" series, it's Way less graphic, its starts out the same, but, Ljane Smith wrote the book back in the 90s.

  23. I'm reading it now, and I'm in my 20s.  I think  that some of the themes are a little mature for an 11 year old.  It is a vampire book, and while it's not really sexual in nature, it is geared toward high school love, and hints at feelings and experiences within that age group.

It is a fast read, read it for yourself first if you want, I think you'll like it, and that way you can be the judge.

  24. ye its fine

    its a tean book

and shes almost in her teans so ye

    its fine

id wacth out for the last book 'breaking dawn' though

i think there the best books ever.

I read them close to her age so shell be fine.

The vampires in it arnt scary.

There is fighting scenes in it with blood and things like that but nothing major.

    Shell be fine

    there great

    BEST BOOKS EVER

    whoop whoop

  25. I think so. In the last book though, there is s*x, nothing hardcore, just a few references that it happened. These vampires aren't really scary enough to scare a child of her age. Since she is a mature reader, the twists and turns of the book will be easy for her to understand!

  26. My very unusually intelligent 8 year old has read all three books and three quarters through Breaking Dawn, lol.

There is some mature words in it, trust me, and sometimes it gets a little lovey dovey but, It's cool.

but, wait a bit until she reads Breaking Dawn.. wait till she is about 14 or 15.

  27. First of all, it is the absolute best book I have ever read. It is not very graphic at all...if at all in the last book but by the time she gets there shell probably be 12 and even "More" mature. I would definately recommend it. It is umbelievable, and my daughter loves it so much. she is soooooooo excited for the movie. she won't stop talking about it. Just sit your daughter down and tell her you trust her and you think that the book would spark a little imagination and that's why you're letting her read it. trust me, its fine.

  28. Okay there is a very similar question ("Am I too young to read the twilight series??? Im twelve years old and im thinking about reading the twilight series. A lot of my friends have read them and are completly obsessed. are they too mature??") so I'm going to give you the same answer:

well. here's the thing I'm twelve too and I've already read the twilight serie but the only thing i can say to watch out for is the last book breaking dawn because it has more "stuff" in it then the others

for Twilight i would say it's between PG to PG 13 but it wasn't that bad

for New Moon I would say it is PG

for Eclipse hm. I would say I strongly think it's PG but it might be PG13

for Breaking Dawn I would have to go for PG13 atleast

but all in all it is a really good series and you should read it I really enjoyed reading it and I've reread it atleast twice :)

here's the link to that question:

and you can decide the answer for yourself

  29. Yes, it's not a graphic book. Some of the kissing scenes are more explicit than the honeymoon part in the last book. My mom has let my ten year old mature sister read the last book.

It's not at all crude, merely beautiful so I'd say yes.

  30. "it"? haha.  I find that very funny indeed.  I suggest not letting her read them, but not because of any content.  They're just very bad, horribly written books that encourage all sorts of bad behaviors, including, but not limited to: pedophilia, psycological and emotional abuse, suicide, being obsessive about your significant other, being overbearing and controlling, sexism, nymphomania and cutting off all ties with friends and family once you have a boyfriend.  Also, Bella is a Mary-Sue with the personality of a doormat, and since she is the narrator, you're stuck in her head reading comments such as "building three was very easy to find.  It had a big number three on it!"  The other characters are little better.  Have her read the classics instead.  She doesn't have to read Jane Eyre, but Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, The Wind In the Willows, Anne Of Green Gables, The Little Prince... they're a much better use of time.

  31. No.

She may think that abusive guys are good for her. That putting down her thoughts and laughing at her fears means that he loves her. Also, by constantly telling her that he is dangerous and that he can not live without her, she may think it was romantic. That his constant worry over her and not allowing her to see her friends was just 'overprotective'. Oh, and that it's twu wuv when he tells her he's been watching her sleep every night without her knowledge.

This is what happens in the Twilight series, and so many girls think that the guy who does all this is perfect.

And because that series just plain sucks, no way around it. Don't let her read it! Her eyes will burn, she may complain that a part of her brain died.

If, though, you still want to go ahead and give it her, the books are not explicit. It's safe, although whether it's good . . .

Here's a book for a mature eleven year old: All of Jane Austen. All the love without the explicitness of Jackie Collins! Or maybe Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. It's got action, adventure, magic, mystery and romance [albeit quite little] all in one.
