Is uTorrent safe? Can you get viruses and stuff by using it ?

Utorrent isn't safe for anything.

Don't get it, you can get viruses and stuff from Utorrents, It will steal all of your personal stuff.

If it has created a .bat or .dat file, you wouldn't noticed until further on when your using the computer.

You will need to manual look at your files don't ever try using a virus scan because it will never be able to scan those files.

i find that there are fewer viruses than on limewire/kazaa which i stopped using years ago

if you use piratebay.org as the search engine them others will leave feedback if the file is infected.

that said- a decent virus scanner will tell you if a file is infected once you download it. unfortunately most will also falsely tell you that key generators are viruses when they are not.

There used to be lots of viruses that attacked limewire and forced your machine to host fake files which were infact viruses. I have never heard of this happening to utorrent.

I agree with the first person.

I didn't do that for a while until I got a virus on my last computer looking for a Nero version. Little did I know, there was a virus called Nero that hid itself in the file.

So from now on I read the comments from other people.

It really does help. Besides that incident, I haven't had any problems with it.

the software is safe but what you download of it cant be the best thing you can do is read what people have commented about what ever you down load

Never had a virus from torrents, but downloading movies and programs from limewire was all packed with malware and adware put on by torrent protesters, the musics ok though.

it is safe ,but it depends on what you download. Check the comments before downloading. and don't download cracks, i had my pc infected from it.

uTorrent is safe however just be careful of the CONTENT which you are downloading. That's what contain all the nasties. Therefore,  get yourself a good AV.

Also, always look at comments of torrents to see if it's a good or bad torrent.
