I have a Old Computer that wastes up about three plugs. It's really slow aswell so I'm thinking about getting a laptop, but I was wondering...is it more environmentally-friendly than using a Computer?

  1. they both work on the same sort of low voltage so i guess not but the monitor would use a lot so yes it proberly is

  2. A laptop is a computer too but I assume you mean as opposed to a tower PC.

Yes - because laptops use more energy efficient parts (basically to stay cooler and save batteries).

    Laptops are however more expensive.

  3. Think about it?

What does a laptop do that an office PC can't?

    Work without mains?

    i.e Battery backup.

How do you think they make batteries. more this, more that, so basically without having all the figures and stats I think you are better off with an office PC?

  4. I was just reading about that in Real Simple magazine, it says laptops use 90% less energy than desktops. It makes sense to me.

  5. i would say yes coz they don't use as much power than those monitors .......and even they r quite conveneint

  6. No....

  7. laptops don't use as much power

  8. Yer i guess it is. because they are only using power when they are plugged in charging the rest of the time they arent using any.
