  1. Don't use a d**n cell phone when there's a lightning storm. Do yourself a favor and find shelter.

  2. Well, there isn't really any danger at all. There is no way an electric shock could travel through the air into your cell phone. And even if you are on a land line it is extremely unlikely for lightning to hit it.

  3. No. The idea is electricity coming through the wire on a land line. Since there is no wire a cell is safer.

  4. Nope. Using a landline is only dangerous because there is a cable connected to it that goes underground and the cable has the chance of being struck by lightning. You can completely safe using a cell phone because it is not connected to a cable. I wouldn't use a cell phone in a storm if it was charging though.

    Hope I've helped you!

  5. It is not dangerous to use a cell phone during a thunderstorm. The amount of metal located inside a cell phone is so negligible that it does not pose a threat to you. Plus, the cell phone is not connected to any metal wiring like corded home phones are. This wiring is the reason that corded home phones are dangerous. If there is no cord, the phone is perfectly safe to use. That does not mean that you will never be struck by lightning if you use a cell phone outside. Simply by being outside you increase the risk of you being struck by lightning, no matter what it is you are holding. Get inside a sturdy/wired building or a vehicle to stay safe from lightning.
