This seems like it would be the best for me--no hormones and i can still feel skin to skin contact.

  1. I don't know anyone my age (25) that uses one- most use a combination of the pill and condoms. I think mostly because it doesn't protect from STDs in the same way that condoms do and it is not as effective as the pill. But each to their own.

  2. As far as birth control methods go it is a tad outdated but I find any type of legitimate birth control a smarter choice than going without.

Do you have any children? If you do I would suggest and IUD. I ask if you already have children because many doctors aren't willing to insert one unless you're at a certain age or you have children because in some women they have been known to cause women to become sterile.

  3. I didnt know it was still an option.

IDU, some types have no hormones skin to skin good for several years.  however should you get an STD with it in.  It can cause greater issues.

  4. I have read booklet at doctor's surgery that it is a good idea to also use spermicide with diaphrams and caps, to help further lessen the chance of pregnancy.

  5. Ya know... do some research.  There have been quite a few problems associated with those things.  Same thing applies to IUD's.

  6. With all the new methods available, I imagine less and less women would want to deal with one.

  7. Any method that you feel comfortable with should be fine- however they don't protect against STD's.

  8. Birth control, it's probably fine. The problem is STDs will still be transmitted so anyone risking using one today IS a bit outdated (if you and your partner are exclusive *and* have been checked at a clinic recently, it's probably fine.) Not birth control is 100% though.
