Is using electricity a sin against the earth?

Why don't ecologists somehow completely control humanity, using stern measures of punishment and bondage against any who would rob future generations of a perfect earth, with no pollution?

I don't think electricity is the problem. Other types of pollution are worse. I think it would be hard to completely control humanity. Especially using punishment and bondage. You would think some people would resist. I doubt their conscience would bother them about this because it's not like they can do anything about it.
