Is using leftie rightie forehands good in a tennis match.?

Example instead of using a backhand in tennis should i switch to my left hand and perform a left forehand. Please answer. Thank you.

  1. sounds like a good idea. i wonder why nobody has thought of it! (sarcasm)

    it's just because the time to switch hands is too great, and that it's a lot of practice.

    now you're probably thinking- i could switch quickly. maybe you can, but i've tried that technique for volleying and it's a lot harder than you think.


  2. I don't think it's particularly practical.  If you're playing someone who hits the ball with any kind of pace (even by recreational standards), I don't think you'd have the time to switch between one forehand to the other.  

    And all of this is assuming that you have enough dexterity with your non-dominant hand to make that (non-dominant) forehand powerful or accurate enough to make using that shot worthwhile in and of itself.
