  1. You'll get less vibration and more sound output (technically the output is the same, but it sounds louder).  All that bass that's going out into thin air will be contained inside the car.

Depending on the power you've got, you may just want to do the trunk lid and sides, and any problem areas.  It's pricey, but definitely worth it.  Don't use Dynamat, use Dynamat Xtreme if you use that brand.  Don't use an asphalt based mat.

If you've got a lot of power and sound, you could get benefit out of matting the trunk floor, lid, sides, and the cabin floor and ceiling (have to pull out the carpet and headliner and then reinstall after sticking up the mat), all doors and the firewall.  That's really overkill unless you are throwing a couple thousand watts at those subs, which I don't expect that you are.

Have fun, I think you'll really appreciate the results with the deadener!

  2. It Sounds a lot better, we did a el camino in it and you hardly hear any road and engine noise. Quiets the cab down tremendously and makes the music sound so much better. as for price wise it is expensive to use dynamat, we used a company called FATMAT - found it on eBay and i would highly recommend it to anyone.

  3. It's a matter of preference, but here's the facts:

    1. It works well, reduces vibrations/odd acoustics

    2. It's extremely heavy, as compared to what the car sheet metal is.  Expect a markedly slower vehicle and lower MPG

    3. It's very expensive per square foot

One close friend is an audio nut, only gets the best...but he's really on the fence after he put Dynamat all through his Lex.  My suggestion would be to start with any trouble areas.  Less is more with this stuff.
