Is vaseline poisonous for dogs?

I live in Western Australia, so the brand they sell here is the one I'm referring to.

My dogs (and cats) go crazy over Vaseline. I, also, have been trying to find out why.  So far, no answers. All  I do know is that it has never harmed them :)
