  1. Yes it is with all it's little and cute streets

  2. YES YES YES.  Except at the height of summer when it can be hot and smelly.

  3. Very, very True!

  4. Where ever you happen to be is romantic if you're with the right person.

Venice is romantic especially at night or in early morning fog. It's easy to imagine your'e back in the 16th century.

There are a lot of secluded spots to have a romantic dinner in a small restaurant by the canal and watch the gondolas glide by and/or taking a gondola ride at midnight. Or go out to the Lido to watch the sunrise.

  5. It is true that the water smells a lot in the summer. If you can ignore the smell then yes, it arguably is a very romantic city.

The beauty of Venice is that there are many quaint shops, cafes, bars and restauarants and also a lot of history and I guess, places for photo opportunities for couples. There are plenty of ways for a guy to spend a lot of money if he is trying to impress his partner :)

  6. Some people consider the back seat of their car to be romantic..... BUT Venice is more than just romantic – it’s a romantic experience in a setting like no other in the world. The only problem is that you will either love it or hate it. There is no in between - no middle ground. As you enter the city - you'll either find it exotic, captivating or stinky, over crowded and run down.

If you go to Venice to find romance  you will discover it on the silent side "streets" (remember there are no streets as in real life settings for there are no cars and the streets aren't even called "strade" ("streets") but "calle" (walk ways), fondamente ("walks by the water"), etc... . It's in the side streets where you have to walk close together because the calle are so narrow... and if you are by your selves you’ll feel enticed to be romantic. Once out of the narrow side “streets” you walk into wide open spaces – these unexpected surprises are enough to want to hold each other tight.

Water.... the essence of life is every where. The sounds of the water, its movements and reflections make you confess your honesty to whom you are with. The smell of the brine, the movement of the boats, the drastic, sometimes sad colors of the skies.... how can you not fall in to the love trap you’ve set for yourself.

The city is small – you can walk most of the city in a full day. There is little stress in walking. Unlike being in a car, concentrating on the road, the traffic and having the music on – in Venice you walk AND talk AND touch, hold hands AND the only stress you have is trying to figuring out what could be wrong with all of this. Why does one feel romantic in Venice? Why can’t life be like this all the time?
