  1. so u want to come VietNam for that huh?I think you will hopeless.U travel, why u find that place?

and money is not anything in here.Cus i live in here.

  2. You're being a bit prejudiced here...  Thailand is NOT seedy.  There are certain areas of a few cities in Thailand (such as Bangkok and Pattaya), that are certainly red light districts, but to call the whole country "seedy" is just ignorant.

But, if you mean does Vietnam have as extensive and well developed red light districts as those in parts of Thailiand, the answer is no.  Vietnam has red light districts, but they are not on the same level (in general) as those in parts of Thailand.

Try not to generalize an entire country by your views on some activities that go on in a few cities.

  3. Thailand is not seedy in general although some areas may be. The difference between Thailand and Vietnam is that there are no legal red-light districts in Vietnam and prostitution there is better controlled and well hidden.

You will not see too much on the streets of Vietnam what you would frequently in Thailand: local women in the arms of foreign tourists. Prostitution unfortunately exists everywhere in this world but it's definitely "not in your face" in Vietnam. Come and enjoy a beautiful and affordable country and its friendly, courteous people. You won't regret it!

  4. Probably not.

If it is, you can garantee that the government has a huge cut.

  5. of cours e not

  6. been both places and yes, there is still prostitution in vietnam, but to me, it wasn't as "in your face" as in Thailand. read your guidebooks to avoid certain neighborhoods. one thing i have seen in thailand SO much more than other asian countries are all the old, crusty western men with the young thai women on their arms....just another form of prostitution, i guess. very sad.

  7. Well   mmmmmmmm Vietnam it was certainly an experience...........

I must admit I went to Thailand on the same trip and Thailand was full of prostitutes but I found Vietnam very friendly they all want your money and will do anything for it...........

one guy just pushed my daughters pram around all day walking next to me for a few dollars a day.........that was a fortune to him...

YOu will enjoy it, I am going back next year

  8. Viet Nam is no where near as "seedy" or as "jaded" as Thailand as far as prostitution goes.  The bar-girl scene is also no where near what it is like in Thailand.  Being an Asian country there is prostitution available but it is not in your face everywhere like it is in Thailand. There are a few "girlie" bars but they are much tamer and they have to be sought out if that is what one is looking for.

Most bars in HCMC close around 12:00 and there are only a few that stay open later than that.

The marijuana laws in VN are much more permissible than Thailand, with public smoking in bars and most clubs acceptable.

  9. If you go looking for it yes! We Loved Vietnam, although beware that in Northern Vietnam western women will get stared at because of their pale skin! They are not being rude, just curios, but it can get a bit annoying! Vietnam is an awesome place to tour round.

  10. First off, I somewhat agree with many of the things the previous answer said, for most of us living in Thailand, the red light districts are a miniscule part of Bangkok and Thailand, and for those of us that don't frequent, much less partake in the activities in those areas, Thailand can be and is one the best places in world to live. Having said that, I was in Vietnam last week, in HCMC District 1 (the main tourist area), I did not see any red-light districts. What I did see were "motorbike pimps," on many street corners offering to take you to massage parlours, go-go bars and offering women for pleasure, who won't take no for an answer, and will follow you for a block or so pitching their wares. If you're with a woman. I doubt if you will have a problem, if you're alone or with other males, an emphatic no or three is necessary to get these guys off your back. Otherwise, it's a great place, and I considered this a minor and somewhat humorous nuisance.

  11. Don't forget Vietnam is still Communist country  and whatever life is, Vietnam still keep its own moral culture, everybody loves and enjoys travelling here, try it and you won't regret
