  1. You will be just fine. I went in 2002 by myself for two months through China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thialand and had no problems. I was only 21yrs old, very blonde hair and American!

  2. Yes its safe. Of course with any foreign place you need to be careful and not do dumb things but my overall opinion - very safe and amazing to visit too!

  3. vietname is one of the safest countries in the world. so you don't need to worry so much. The good sport shoes is very good. then, you must need a map, try not get lost in vietnam, especially in the big city ( ho chi minh or ha noi...). you will be helped , and welcomed  warmly. I really sure about that. some places you should visit are: Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh, Phong Nha Cavern in Quang Binh, Hoi An acient street in Da Nang, Sapa city in the north of vietnam...

  4. yes, it's safe for everyone

  5. YES IS IS VERY SAFE.DON'T WORRY OF  BEEN MOLEST. THE PEOPLE THERE ARE VERY FRIENDLY.

  6. no it is not safe. not that you will die or anything. people just tend to steal things. your purse your, your necklace, your earrings, they will grab it off you and run. (yes, even your earrings) . If you wear flip flops and take them off when you sit down, they will steal those. Never let go of your bag once you touchdown at the airport in vietnam. hold on to it tightly.

  7. I hope so.

  8. no

  9. I wouldn't go to a third world country. You could check what The U.S. has to say.

  10. Wow,i cant beleive some off the answers, and dont let them put you off,its very safe, just take the normal precautions you would any where.

If you stick to the costal regions you dont need malaria tablets,[WHO]and try to visit Nha Trang, you wont want to leave. The one thing you should be aware off is long distance coach travel is not very good, try to alow in your budget some money to fly.

  11. yes it is generally safe for tourists.  We went for 3 weeks, and didnt experience any issues.  However, the locals treat their women differently then westerners.  I saw this one girl get smacked HARD by her boyfriend in public.  nobody even blinked.  Sapa is cheap and nice.  the whole country is really cheap.  the most expensive place (and generally my least favorite) was hanoi.  the people were really rude there overall.  other than that we had an awesome time!!!

  12. It is a very safe country.  Hanoi and HCMC are a lot safer than most American big cities.  People are very friendly and there is so much to see and do.  As everywhere in a strange country you should be careful and dress conservatively.  You and your cousins will have a wonderful time.  Eat from the street venders and drink Bia Hoi.  Both are very reasonable.  So many places to choose from to visit and most are either free or very cheap. Cheers

  13. well yes I visit there before because some of my family live there.Yes it safe but if you are in a navy, army then not safe if not you can to go to Hanoi it the safest for USA people live or other then vietnam people. Also it good all you buy is about $0.50 is the less you can buy

  14. yes it OK, the country is slowly improving. Just like all other asian countries, common sense precaution must be exercise at all time. Ok i heard the air quality there is quite bad so is the water -better drink bottle of water. Like most tourists try to bargain alot or you get rip-off. Take care in the street too, because the traffic is chaos - they only have limited traffic light.

Oh when you go and eat in the restaurant becareful, because last time my friend when there she was eating this soup called 'pho' a famous beef soup-instead of beef, after she finished, she found out it was dog meat.

Some place you may want to visit - they have theme park there, like water world and stuff. If you travel to other part go to Vung Tau and Da Lat - it like a holiday restort, there moutains, waterfall and all sort of thing.

Hvae fun - from you Vietnam tour guide

  15. Bring M-16's and watch out for bouncing betty mines.  If you take a guide dog, they can usually detect it.  Stay off the trails and if you suspect a rathole, just chuck a grenade in.  When wading through rivers, remember to clean your weapon after.  Change your socks 12 hours.  That's about it.  Oh and put on some mosquito repellant for malaria.

  16. I'm staying in Ho Chi Minh, and I found the streets to be extremely safe!.. even safer than Kuala Lumpur. That's for the city.. if you are going into the jungle, you'll need a guide.. which you can hire from any of the many tour guides in the city center. 2 star hotels are about USD 30 a night.. clean, comfortable and friendly service.

There are tourist police, and the backup police patrolling the streets 24 hours a day in the city.
