Is violence against bullies ever acceptable?

....when you're an adult, and it's been happening for 2 years, and you've let them know that you don't appreciate their behavior, and you've tried ignoring them etc., but they still try to ruin you out of jealousy/hate etc. (e.g., rumors, backstabbing at every chance, setting you up, starting a fight between you and someone else, telling others not to talk to you etc.).

No, it's nearly always acceptable. Why allow yourself to be victimized? Strike back in the most vicious method you can allow yourself, ASAP.

i know that it would be nice to beat their brains out, but don't as you would be sinking to their level, rise above it, their behavior is childish,

remember what goes around comes around,try laughing at them, show them it doesn't bother you, if they think you are not bothered by it then they will give up.

If you are a vindictive soul yes, but other than that i suggest just serously blocking them out of your life, or telling your friends, workmates, etc that this person is a jerk..

Yes it is if they have been bullying you for a long time. You can also get a lot of people, including yourself to stand up to the bully to get him intimated a little or a lot and he won't pick on you anymore

when i got bullied at school....i tried to ignor

my parents were worried about me, teachers and other kids didnt care

and i had to take matters into my own hands

i tool up martial arts at age 15

now at 23 im a second degree black belt!

Socially acceptable? It may seem so, but it is not legal and could get you in trouble and the bully would go free of consequence. You can legitimately report harassment to the Police, especially if you have witnesses to back you up.

I would beat the *** out of anyone doing what you described. It is acceptable in my country. I doubt it will work in the States, though.
