Is visiting Mount Rainier in Sept end a good idea? What will the temperature be like?Can we see any view?

  1. This is a good time. A lot of the roads on the mountain closed in the winter time. If the weather is clear, there will be awesome views. The temperature will be coolish, but not freezing. If it's not raining it will be comfortable for walking in a long sleaved shirt or light jacket.

  3. The way this summer is going, you'll have as good of a chance of views as you would have in July or August. Actually, often September is one of the nicest months around here.  What will really make the difference is if it is cloudy or not. If it's cloudy, it's probably not worth it. The temp could range from 60-75. On a fairly nice day (or even a day with higher cloud cover) it is a great place to visit.  I was up there in July and there was still snow near Paradise.  (This is unusual - usually it has all melted).

    September will be less crowded, so that's one nice thing!
