Yes, if you buy it with a new machine, it's brilliant. No problems for me.

However, if you upgrade on an existing XP machine, you may have a few issues.

Well vista have very nice graphic..but many of software it cant support..cause it still not stabil product..and vista requred at least 1.5GB of Ram for u can play with it without hang..^^ and for answer ur question..in my opinion its not good enough than xp..maybe u should wait until it become a stabil product ^^

Without getting into an argument (This is my personal view and I've come with windows from version 3.1) I think that Microsoft has wasted energy with Vista. Most professional people refuse to switch over to Vista from XP. And why should they? XP is stable and reliable (to a fair extent) and Vista (apart from a nice looking interface) does not REALLY offer anything more except compatibility issues and added strain on hardware resources.

Again: Mostly my personal view.

In my opinion, yes, although it does have some irritating qualities as some other people have already discussed. I have Vista basic on my laptop and Vista home premium on my desktop and have only had a problem when I tried to install a Lexmark all in one printer/scanner/copier and the only thin that would work was the printer function. Lexmark was absolutely no help in fixing the problem.

Yes, and no is the only answer possible if you have used this operating system recently,   Businesses will not use the Vista operating system, because the average system in a office was built in 2003 has 256 MB of memory and a 40 gig 5400 RPM hard drive.  In addition the investment businesses have in hardware devices attached to these computers is astronomical, and a lot of them do not have nor will never have Vista drivers.

If you purchase a new computer with Vista installed, make certain it has a 3 gigs of memory, has a windows XP downgrade disk as some newer hardware is designed not to run windows XP.  Get a new printer known to have both windows XP and Vista drivers as lots of printers will only work with Windows XP, or Vista.  Then I believe you might find after taking the time to learn the newer system it will accomplish some things better than windows XP, and others not near as well.

If you are a experienced Windows XP user, Vista can drive you nuts, if you are set in your ways.  If you use your  system for entertainment, the DRM policy that microsoft has established as part of the Vista operating may not make you a happy camper...  

If you are a casual Linux or MAC user then the learning curve of  Vista will seem like wearing a 100 pound fat suit in a 26 mile marthon race.  

Windows 7 is to be available early next year, and this new version from microsoft has been promoted in many boardroom as a solution  that for American business. The biggest promise is it will run on the average business computer and most of the windows XP device drivers can be installed.

For school I would suggest download the free Open Office software instead of purchasing Office 2007.

yes it took me a month though to get used to it~there are some good programs built in.

1 i like is the ability to just plug a USB memory stick in and use it as extra RAM.1GB gives approx 0.8GB extra.

the built in voice recognition is good also.you just tell the computer to do things.

It's all depends on your computer , vista need a higher computer performance , if you only have 128MB Ram don't dream running Vista..but Vista is way better than XP.Some programmes may not work on Vista and work on XP.

one in three new machines bought now is downgraded from vista to xp.

Main criticisms against vista are drm, account management, software compatability, and its resource utilisation on older machines.

Its take-up in the corporate/business sector has been poor.

i prefer xp because it doesnt have as many problems as xp. my sister has it and its alright but personally i prefer xp because alot of the programs that i have dont work on vista only on xp and everytime i try to install it asks you everytime if your sure you want to continue.i might upgrade if was more stable until then im sticking with xp. if you like vista because of the way it looks then you can get software to make it look like vista

In my honest opinion, yes.

If you have a computer this side of 2007 then it should run it fine. It looks good and it runs well. If people can't switch from XP to vista because it's too different, i wouldn't be suprised if the zip on their jeans is too complicated for them.

Only had one problem with vista and that is running multiple moniters, and that's only because my video card has its head up its own ****.

yes Vista is good for user's interface. It has more stylish skins and effects. But if you compare between the performance and running programs of XP and Vista then XP is better, If you install vista on a new and high-fi computer then it would be good.
