  1. “The way that vitaminwater is marketed and positioned it’s made to look more healthful than other sugary beverages, but it’s not – it’s still just a soft drink,” said Margo G. Wootan, Director of Nutrition Policy at the Center for Science in the Public Interest. “It has this aura of healthfulness that is not deserved. Adding vitamins and minerals to junk food doesn’t make it healthy.”

It was healthy for rapper 50 Cent. He made $400 million off his vitaminwater investment when Coca-Cola bought it. True dat.

  2. Well it is not really bad but it is a waste of money.

It is marketed as health water but it is just water wtih vitamins and flavoring and sugar added. It is completely unneccessary. There is no reason to buy a food or drink that adds stuff to it for no valid reason. This is just a ploy by the manufacturer to take advantage of the growing health consciousl consumer who does not actually know much about the industry.

If we are getting pleny to nutrition through diet and supplementation like we should be then taking stuff like this is a total waste of money. At least with energy drinks and sprots drinks there is a valid place for them becuase they are focused to do specific things. But vitamin water...

Adding calcium to antacids is fine because antacids deplete you body of calcium. Or adding stuff like Vitamin D, Maganese, and Magnesium to milk is fine becuase they help your body process and use the calciu. Adding cutures to yogurt or vitamins to water does absolutely nothing for you or the base product except put extra cash in the greedy corporations that make these products just to take advantage of us.

  3. It's water with vitamins added.  There are very few calories and it has some flavor.  This is fine as an alternative to water.  You'll pass most of the vitamins through in your urine.

Try buying 100% fruit juice and mixing that 3 parts water and 1 part juice over ice.  Delicious and low sugar; 100% natural...That'll show'em!!

  4. it really is very bad for you... but it is so good :):

  5. As far as we know today it is not bad for you, in moderate amounts. Which means that you shouldn't drink it every day and max 1 serving (2 cups) when you consume it ie. do not drink a full bottle in one day. The reason is that the sugar content is as high as other soft drinks and if you don't want to make yourself prone to diabetes or/and obesity you shouldn't consume soft drinks on a daily basis.

However, I am also concerned about the coloring in the vitamin drinks. Artificial colors are also linked to many other disorders such as ADHD, thyroid disease etc, and these colors are in fact being banned in more and more countries. I thus stay away from them but that is just my take.

  6. It's not necessarily "bad" for you in that in would harm you, but it's not health food, either.

If it's got sugar, well, sugar's not really bad.  It's a natural substance--but it can contribute to weight gain and tooth decay.

  7. well its marketed like a health drink but its really high in calories. so that kind of defeats the purpose of putting all those "vitamins" in it

anything with aspartame (artificial sweetener) in it is DEADLY. that includes all diet soda.

so Vitmain water is just high in calories, its not poison to you like other drinks are.
