Is volleyball a girly sport?

I have a Huge!!!! Question and it is important to me. There is this girl who plays volleyballl and I like this girl! In my life I alwys wanted to be a professional sport player. Should I chose Volleyball not only to impress the girl but to please myself?

if you think you would enjoy volleyball then do it, i have been playing for 6 years and i love it, its really a fun sport.  And i dont think its that girly, i mean did you watch mens beach and indoor volleyball at the olympics, those guys are beastly.  So try volleyball, it really is a lot of fun, and dont do it just to impress somebody, do it if you want to!  Cuz you have to have passion to play volleyball!

volleyball is not a girly girl sport!  You should do volleyball because you like it, not to impress a girl.  There's a million other ways to impress a girl than just volleyball.  If your athletic then you can use another sport.  It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to play volleyball.  A lot of people stereotype volleyball as a sport that is a "piece of cake" but it really isn't.  Many guys play volleyball and volleyball is harder than some sports out there that aren't stereotyped as girly.  Good Luck with the girl!

No!!! Volleyball is not a girly sport.  Frankly it is a good way to pick up chicks.  Plus i love the game, and once you get really good at it, it feels great to to hit the ball really hard.

In other words, yes, u should play to both please the girl and also to please urself.

well you don't want to do that just for a girl...if you like volleyball then go out for volleyball because you like volleyball...not because a girl likes it...trust me...i don't like it when guys do that...i think you just need to be you...if you like volleyball then yeah...but don't do it for a girl.

Well, I'm coaching a men's college team now and it is definitely *NOT* "girly."  It's a different game, much more oriented to power play and siding out.  I'm having a blast coaching these guys.

Did you watch any of the men's matches in the Olympics?  They were awesome!  

I play in quite a few adult leagues and there are a lot of men playing.  It's a game you can play as long as your body holds up. :-)  

Find a local club team and try out and see if you like the game.  Have fun!!

volleyball is a sick sport, even better when women play it, if you wanna be a professional sport player go with something respectable like, football, soccer, bastetball or hockey...there's no money or fame in volleyball, until you get the gold in the olympics, but even then pple only watch the women volleyball :P

absoulutely! i dont understand why guys think its     y. all of my trainers are guys and their phonomenal at it. its a great sport and if your competitive its even better. in football and other sports its all about how far you throw in stuff, but in volleyball you can really impress your      by how hard you hit.

some of the best volleyball teams in the nation are men's teams; they're amazing to watch.

no, its not girly. my D1 team goes crazy when we see guys play; can't help but want to play against them. But you really should try it; it's an absolutely amazing sport. and guys dont wear spandex. =]

try going to some clinics and camps, then pick up a shirt representing a mens college team.
