It might help, but only if it is a part of the bigger picture.  You can't eat fast food all the time and do no other exercise and expect to lose weight just because you play a few hours of volleyball a week.  Burning calories is about raising your heart rate and maintaining that.  Volleyball is a great sport, but it does not raise your heart rate and maintain that level for very long especially at a beginner level.  I have been playing volleyball for 10 years at a very competitive level and as much as I love it, I cannot rely on it to keep me in shape.  I definitely recommend doing something like volleball as an alternate activity to running, or cardio work.  But work a schedule out that fits your life and eat right so that you can be happy and lose weight at the same time.

  3. I think any recreational activity with those times will help your health. Volleyball is definitely a good place to start and will probably help you lose weight.

    Of course u can lose weight and it would be useful for your body shape it makes u stronger and also more efficent in your life dont forget that u play that for being health first of all
