  1. Volleyball is worth learning, i have been playing for about 17 years now and coaching for about 7. Im not gonna lie there it is a lot of work if you are just starting out but in the end it is worth it.

  2. It is soooo much fun, and it is totally worth learning (And the time), trust me, it is worth it, it'll pay off sooner or later...

It is soooo great to see girls on my team cheering for each other even if we hate each other off the court.

    You will have fun...

Just rememember to have great sportsmanship, a positive attitude, and have fun!!

  3. I personally LOVE volleyball, it is like my LIFE!

If you think it looks fun, then play! Trust me, you will love it!

I got my best friend to play volleyball this year, and she hated it, but after the 1st practice she was like omg this is fun!

And she loves it now, it is her favorite sport!

Do it if you think it would be fun :]

  4. Volleyball is soooooo much worth learning. I don't like most sports, but volleyball just took my heart away (if that makes sense, lol). I'm not that good at it either, but I still enjoy it a lot. I joined the school team this year and last year in 7th grade. You should just have self-confidence that you can do well, and practice bumping, setting, hitting, and serving. Volleyball also requires you to communicate a lot with your team.

  5. I think that the sport is definitely worth learning. The team camaraderie is amazing, there's really no greater feeling than playing hard with your team and getting a win at the end.  Some of the best experiences that I've had have been with my team both school and club.

I think that if you tryout and make the team you'll have a great time, but I';m not going to lie to you if you want to be good at the sport its going to take a lot of hard work and dedication.  Of course you're going to be sore after the first few nights of practice and if your not then your not doing it right and really working hard.  With any sport or physical activity there's always a risk of injury.  For me I missed my entire junior year due to an ACL tear (that's not really common for vb though), but I'm still with the sport. i showed up to every practice, game, and tournament with my team. I wouldn't do that if I truly didn't love the sport.

So go to tryouts try your best.  Take in the advice from the coaches and people that have already been on the team, call the ball, be aggressive, and show your drive and commitment because if you make the team I think that you'll end up liking it way more than you know.

  6. its so much fun, before u know it u will be diving and spiking and just having a great time wether your good or not,

  7. I used to play in college it is a lot of fun. My sister also played in school and she liked it as well. But with all sports you will need to practice. Maybe find a friend that is playing as well and practice with them. It is a great way to meet people as well. Highly recommended!

  8. is this a joke?  of course it's worth learning.  it's the best sport out there and i gave up everything to play it.  go and get out there and play =]

  9. Yes. It is fun, especially if you do well!

It is physical even if it may not seem so.

  10. yeah it is!!! I'm on a team at my school.  It's totally worth doing it helps you with your aim and reflexes.  It's cool that your interested in it . If you join the team work extra hard on serving it gets the points for the game.  Bumping is very important if you are in any league. Make sure your aim is on.  ALWAYS think the ball is yours.

  11. wow! volleyball season just ended and it was aw some ... volleyball is an good sport to learn spiking, setting, bumping its all fun. Then again it is also a sport in which you have to be able to work with a group of people and get along so there is no TENSION in the court...otherwise its aw some!

  12. haha yeh the girls on the team become ur family

    =]

best of luck.my wishes to ya!

  13. Well I only joined because of my friends were in it and now it's my favorite sport!! I love it and I wasn't good at first but now I'm really good. I would recommend playing volleyball to anyone, it is soo much fun!!

  16. well, i havent been on a team, but its really fun, and if you really want to then it is worth learning. you usually have hard workouts to do though, as one of my friends told me.

  17. ive played volleyball for about 4 years and i love it so much

if you are thinking about playing in the future you should reall start soon and school team is a goor fun way to start. that way if you like it at school you can try for club too.

it is definately my favorite sprt and you would probably love it too. but you cant give up too soon it takes a few weeks to leaarn to love it

  18. It is only worth it if you want to do it!

  19. It is worth taking up - the most fun sport I have ever played. It does have a long learning curve to it, in which practice helps a lot.

You just need a practice volleyball ($20 or less) and a wall somewhere, read up on the techniques and get someone to help you, either to practice with, or show you the basic techniques. You can always videotape some beach volleyball and replay it back slowly.

With a wall, you can spike against it - throw the ball up and spike the ball against the wall. Throwing it higher and higher, until you grow confident in it. Then try doing it with your other arm? Sometimes your body is in the wrong position, so being able to do the left handed spike, is useful (if right handed). You can set against a wall (or straight up) - but you can't dig/bump against a wall.

Digging/bumping is the hardest one to master (along with an effective spike) - but over the summer you can gain the basic skills anywhere..

It is fun sport - everyone can play it - all ages and all fitness levels... You can even practice the basic techniques anywhere, even without a net - you just dig, set and spike towards each other, and you soon develop the ball handling skills necessary.

  20. if it looks good then you have to try it for yourself...it's physical, so how can you go wrong.? But if you try it, you must hang in there without judging it too soon.

  21. You never really know untill you try it. People are diffrent. But I ♥ playing Volleyball. I am pretty new at this but power is a big key in volleyball. Good luck making the team!

  22. Since you have the interest to join your school volleyball team, I believe it is worth learning. Be prepared though for some tough training and conditioning. In the first few practices, your wrists and forearms may ache a little or become sore from the impacts of the ball. The ball may be lightweight, but constant hitting, serving or blocking the ball with your wrists can cause some initial pain. But after a few weeks, you won't feel the soreness anymore because you would have toughened by then.

I'm sharing from my experience when I first learnt volleyball during my junior college years. I joined the school volleyball team for the first three months, before I quit as I wanted to join the Outdoor Activities Club instead. Nevertheless, I enjoyed learning and playing volleyball during that time. I learnt about teamwork, and the training also helped to improve my fitness and agility. Have fun, and all the best to you!

  23. I would say it is REALLY fun at middle school level.

Is it worth learning... absolutely. How serious do you want to be... depends.

At high school or college level when you have to fight for a "W", you would have to "suffer" a lot before tasting a win. You might have heard that lots of athletes got hurt during practice or match, or got low grade at school as they were devoting themselves to what they love the best.

I dropped myself from high-end competition so that I could keep my straight-A. It was more painful to get to that level and quit. I can always remember what my coach told me: "it is not just the team would need you, you would need more from the team."

    8..(

  24. It is the most fun I've ever had.

I play for my high school team.

If you have a good coach, you'll really enjoy it.

Your teammates can become your family.

I highly suggest playing for at least one season.

If you like it, continue to play.

  25. i personally LOVE the game. it's exciting when you get a point or when you hit he ball straight down the line :DD

i've been playing for about 4 years on my city team, it's great.

if you really think it looks cool, i suggest taking it up, it's a great mental game. remember if you beat yourself down, you're not gonna do any good, this is a huge mentally focused game.

  26. i've been playing volleyball since i was 9.. just about 6 years.. and i've enjoyed every single minute of it.

it may be harder to get started if you are at an older age, but its never too late to learn!

    :]
