Vonage is just one of the many VOIP Providers out there.  As long as you have a very good Internet Service Provider the service will work well.  The service I use can be found at: www.digitalphonenow.com

Type in VOIP in the search engine and take a look at all the providers out there.  Make an informed decision.  

There are many phones to choose from as well.  Phones that are very popular with VOIP users are the expandable cordless phones.  You only need to have one phone plugged in and all the others will work wirelessly, master and slave.  All electronic retail stores carry these type of phones.
