  1. yes but it can be frusturating so dont get down on yourself if you dont get it the first couple trys but go into it with a positive attitude and then remember to keep your weight on your back foot and to keep handle close to hips...good luck and have fun.

  2. Yes, but it's not fun if you don't relax.

I took my 15 year old cousin, Katie out, and she freaked because she was in deep water up to her shoulders while she was waiting.

Just remember to relax, sit back, let the boat do the work to pull you up, if you're gonna  faceplant let go. It's easier and less painful to fall backwards than forwards. Listen to the instructors, do what they say, that's the best way to have fun.

Good luck! I hope you enjoy  my sport.

  3. um its like really hard

    remember to lean back, hard

  4. It is fun and kinda scary at the same time.  When you finally get up it feels so cool and smooth.  It's kinda hard to get up though.

  5. Hi! It's fun... the real reward is riding 60 feet behind the boat, wind in your face - a brief moment to yourself...

OK, you only got one 15-min set, make the best out of it by doing a little practice at home; deep water start (basic step to get out of the water).

Sit down on the floor, put your knees together and bring it close to your chest. With your feet apart, bring your heel close to your bum. Now, wrap your arms around your knees. Got it? - this is how it's going to be in the water with your board on.

Next, extend your arms and REMEMBER, it has to straight but relaxed at all times. Have someone hold your hands (imagine holding a handle) and pull you forward, remember don't lift your but up.

You'll end up squatting on the floor (board) - imagine a pull from the boat and you just got out of the water. The pull has to be effortless for the both of you.

You can actually pull a person twice your size... just don't resist the pull but instead follow through by moving your chest forward, OK. Let the pull bring you forward, you just follow.

Then, you wanna have balance squat, keep your feet flat and balance on the ball of your feet. Next, slowly rise up using your LEGS and have equal weight on both legs - a lot of beginner tend to use the handle to stand by pulling it... natural reaction.

NEVER PULL THE HANDLE it doesn't work coz' it's attached to a rope - it doesn't do anything else except pull you forward. So, it's all in the legs and body position.

OK, while slowly standing up, bring your front foot around. Riding position, you want to: keep your chest up, look in front, knees bent not locked but soft, arms straight and relaxed, push your hip forward (imagine closing a drawer with your hip), and SMILE!! You're riding...

I hope you'll have a great time... and sorry if it's a bit lengthy

  6. it is difficult to learn. hopefully you will have the opportunity to ride after your 15 min. lesson is up.

i am new to the sport myself, and was frustrated I couldn't get out of the water at first. however, once i got up and on top of the water, it was a great feeling.

visit wakeboarder.com and check out the newbie section, you will find plenty of help there, more and better info than I could give

  7. it's fun and with a lesson you'll have no problems getting up. you'll get the facts, not ''lean back, hard"
