  1. Highly doubtful....and if anyone is having trouble with the high fuel prices, I doubt it's mega-corporations like Wal Mart.

Small companies and owner operators are feeling the pinch & going out of business left & right.  Large companies get the benefit of bulk fuel discounts & other "fleet" advantages that save them money in the long run.

People have been talking about a trucker's strike since fuel topped 2 dollars a gallon....and they talked about it a lot in the 70's and 80's as deregulation loomed.  Little if anything has ever been done, in spite of all the talk.

  2. A strike is what it will take. I know several  company's that have already shut down. JB Hunt parked 2200 trucks on Thursday. Fed X are also shutting down trucks. hubby is an owner operator. Fuel is about $5530.00 a month. Large truck payments, $660.00 for steer tires. We R ready for bankruptcy.

    All truckers are  struggling.

Soon everyone else is gonna see it.

  3. how would they get the sttuff to market

(its also a hoax have you seen *any thing* in the news about it?

plus I have heard differnet days some say its from march 24

arpil 1 (others say its from arpil 1 to april 24 other says

    its in may

  4. I have heard that major corps are going on a strike as well.  But it is the truth that truckers in Georgia ARE striking April 1..and it is no April Fools Joke either!

The truck drivers and loggers in the Ga area will be shutting down on April 1st. We are scheduled to meet on I-75 at exit 201 at 8 am on April 1st and ride to Atlanta in protest of the fuel prices. We are encouraging everyone to participate. You do not have to have an 18 wheeler to participate. Come in your cars or pickups. It is time to stand together and make a change.
