We have a paddock which has some in it...is it harmful for cattle and horses?

  1. Check this site and see if this is your plant. If it is then it is not harmful to cattle or horses, but can be a real big problem for you. Start getting rid of it any way that you can, manually or with a herbicide like Roundup.

  2. You must be from the southern states, maybe Florida or somewhere like that.

    I have never heard of any animals being poisoned by it.

    There are three common varieties:

    Tradescantia fluminensis (common, green)

    Tradescantia pallida (pale, ornamental)

    Tradescantia zebrina (striped, ornamental)

    They are all shade and damp lovers that spread like crazy.

    Apparently some people and some dogs are allergic to the sap, but not all people or dogs are.

  3. Never heard of "wandering dew" but there is one plant commonly known as "wandering jew" but I don't know about it.

    Have you done a net search on either one?
