  1. YES but not in all cases.

  2. Commodities has been the catalyst for every war fought, since the cradle of civilization . Taking that which isn't yours is never justified.

  3. Except for ending slavery, fascism, Nazism, and communism, war has never solved ANYTHING!

(USN, retired 65 - 85/in-country Viet Nam combat vet)

  4. It truly depends on who started the war, and why it was fought.

WWII was completely justifiable, because of the whole Holocaust.

However.. Vietnam and Iraq.... its difficult to put a finger on those two..

most wars are fought over land... we don't have that too often in today's world.

  5. There are two situations according to the United Nations charter where war among nations is justified.

    - First, a nation always has the right to defend itself against attacks from others. A nation can even strike another first in self-defense when the other nation is clearly about to attack (this is called preemption). A nation exercising self-defense requires no approval from the UN before intiating hostilities.

    - Second, a nation can initiate hostilities against another nation when granted approval by the United Nations Security Council.

  6. Show me someone who says it is not and I will show you an invader.

  7. RARELY

  8. yes, only when attacked or when an attack is coming. not in the case of iraq though.

  9. Well if nobody went to war against Hitler you would be speaking German right now and millions if not billions could have been slaughtered like the jews.

  10. yes. take world war 2 for example. the n***s invaded most of Europe and parts of Russia. this invasion should never have taken place and was not needed. it was necessary and a just cause that the people being invaded fought back. when they could not fight back diplomatically and were killed, there was a justified war to end oppression. However, all of world war 2 was not a justified war. The Russian front was more of a battle between evil and a greater evil who both persecuted many people and some argue that Stalin was worse than Hitler. in that case, war was not justified because both leaders (who were friends and allies before Hitler stabbed Stalin in the back) sent many good men from both sides to kill each other.

War is always justified when one nation must stop another nation from committing genocide or taking away the rights of human beings. It would be unjust to sit around and let fellow human beings be exterminated and just turn your back on them.
