Well in a way yes, because it does use power. But I have to agree with some people above that nowadays everything is bad for the environment.

TV sets need to be disposed of separately from other refuse because of environmental issues.

Well, television does take up energy, so yes. But it does not mean that everybody should stop watching TV, but it is wasteful to leave the TV on all day or when you are not watching it.
