  1. Well in a way yes, because it does use power. But I have to agree with some people above that nowadays everything is bad for the environment.

    TV sets need to be disposed of separately from other refuse because of environmental issues.

    Cutting down on your TV watching is a simple way to conserve energy.

    But what "environment" are you asking about? Nature, Inner Nature, or Neighborhood?

  4. Well, television does take up energy, so yes.  But it does not mean that everybody should stop watching TV, but it is wasteful to leave the TV on all day or when you are not watching it.

  5. The average American watches 5 hours of television a day, so use your arithmetic to approximate the power consumption nationwide and the carbon footprint of that energy generation.
