  1. I have always wondered at this question.

    Everybody says no.

I done an ocean science class last year the lecturer said unpolluted waters are blue but i'm not sure if she really ment this.

also in glaciers the ice is blue so water must have a tint of blue to it.

    But i Dont know.

  2. No. It's the reflection from the sky that gives colour to the water.

  3. Water is colourless, odourless and tasteless.

I think it's blue because of the sky's reflection and something else which I have forgotten.

  4. it's white i think, well, clear colour..ovbiously it is that if it's clean tho, some dirty water wud b brown or yellow ! =P

  5. no. It has no colour.

  6. It is transparent and colorless. The term is used water white.

  7. No water is completely clear, at least clean water is.

It appears blue because it is reflective, as you should know.

The reason is appears blue green sometimes, though, is because of the algae and other microscopic organisms which make the water reflect green.

It appears blue, also, because it reflects the sky.

To prove this, go outside on a cloudy day to somewhere with a lot of water (ocean, large lake, etc.)  where NO BLUE SKY shows.

The water will NOT appear blue.

  8. no its clear and colourless, its the reflection of the sky i think or something like that that makes it blue. think about it, if you went to the sean and cupped your hands in the water is it blue? no
