  1. In the short term, certainly, (if you're hungry and someone gives a some cheese, that helps).  In the longer term, it apears to have had less than dazzling results, though.

  2. It helps.  I just wish we could weed out the lazy people that don't want to work and the druggies.  But, it's not their kids fault.

  3. Like a spike through the skull.  I see it everyday, Fathers replaced by a check, kids, when asked what do you want to do when you grow up responding, I want to get my check at the post office.  No money for food they say, but plenty for beer, drugs, and Cigs.  the  welfare had good intention, most BS from the liberals does have good intention, they just don't get good research, or good results.  Why work, when they will direct deposit you money on the 3rd.

  4. I can see where they may be good for temporary help, but it was never meant to be a career move, like it has turned into for many people unfortunately.

  5. ya, they help.

  6. NO

  7. Yes, it helps them.

    And it hurts them.

As long as Liberals get Welfare, they will never get a job.

And many Democrats live on Welfare.

I ESCAPED THE DEMOCRAT PLANTATION, where people vote Democrat, in hopes of getting a bigger Welfare Check, or some little hand-out.

I escaped.   I wish everyone would.

But.....you have to WANT to escape.

  8. No, welfare and other social programs do not help the poor. The poor are poor because they do not work. They don't even look for work after awhile. There needs to be a reform of welfare, medicaid and other such social programs. Some have been on welfare their entire lives. Why is that?

  9. Yes and no.  The system gets abused and actually provides an incentive to be unproductive.  Imagine loosing food stamps because you work or earn just enough money to be taken off of needed healthcare.  I believe if we cushioned people who are poor the welfare system would work better.  Also the government should provide needed incentives to get able bodied people into the workforce.

  10. Personally, I got foodstamps when things went bad and I had nothing but I also had a visa card and ran up a tab on that and paid it off when things got back to normal for me.

There are times where you just need a little help for a short period to restructure your life, but most people abuse this help and have more children to get more money.

  11. you have to be in a very low bracket to get help they dont help the middle class or the rich  beleve me I HAVE FOUGHT WITH THEM FOR 2 YEARS A BOUT my sons medical condition and some help no way its always always about the money and resources haha whats that again always based on income. so pretty much you have to live on the street to get help. how sad

  12. Not very much. They are empolying lots of government workers who shuffle paper for weeks while their clients wait for help. The programs that are the most help are operated by local governments and community organizations. Such as like food banks, and other city- or county-run food and clothing programs. Also, some local TV stations have events that help poor folks, usually at the beginning of the winter. There is also some education assistance and job training provided by state and local governments........don't hold your breath waiting for Federal assistance, unless you are a multi-national corporation. They get Billions.
