Is what my School doing Legal?

I live in the state of Indiana, and I'm in High School. We have a GQE coming up and well, so many kids in that school has failed it every year (and had to get waivers for their diplomah) that the principal/assistant principal decided to take all the sophmores (because you first take the test your sophomore year) and put them in English and Math classes until it's time to take the GQE (which is in 3 weeks). Is this legal?

For the whole school day, every day, for 3 weeks, we'll be in nothing but Math and English. And we're not even being graded on this. That means no grades for 3 weeks. No school work for 3 weeks, other than the work we get in the math and english class (which isn't even graded by the way).

I thought that under the state of Indiana, you have to go through certain curriculums and teach certain lessons within a semester or marking period. How am I suppose to learn the other stuff such as chemistry, and my electives and other classes? Some of my classes are mixed classes and have more than just sophmores in their. That means that the teacher is still going to be teaching in that class, and I'll just be falling behind.

I understand that they want us to pass this GQE, but they are making us fall behind in other stuff. For people like me, who are already ahead and advanced, they are holding us back and isn't that illegal? I'm not learning anything in this math and english class that I have all day and don't get any grades to show for it.

Lawyer please!!! Can they legally do this?
