Question:

Is what my personal trainer did weird?

Normally at the end of our session we do the stretches in the normal gym area, but today he took me into an empty room, where a class is normally held, and the lights were off, and we did them there.. he said he thought it would make me more comfortable..

Should I think anything of it? Was it even professional? I tend to over analyze everything he does lately.

  1. I've never heard of that.  Being taken into an empty room with the lights off is Not normal.  I think you should let the trainer know that you are not comfortable with going into an empty room especially with the lights off.

If he is so concerned with your comfort level, that incident should not happen again.  If he insists on it,  I would let the management of the gym know. Your safety might be compromised.

  2. Next time, tell him you prefer to stay out in the main area if it made you uncomfortable.  I am sure he wasn't trying to creep you out.  He wouldn't want to lose you as a client.

  3. Ewww.  Not professional at all.
