Mainly everyone on my team thinks it is a sport, but some do not. Once we get to talking about it everyone starts arguing and yelling. It drives me insane. So, WHAT DO YOU THINK???

  1. yeah i reckon it's a sport, just like dance, right?

(im from UK im not totally sure on what it is though)

  2. Winter Guard is mostly majorettes, flag twirlers, and rifle throwers. In my opinion it falls somewhere between the band and the cheerleaders. It does take some dexterity and coordination as well as practice to do well.

Since a lot of the shows and competitions are held indoors and doesn't involve snow or ice, it's not really a "winter" sport either. It's no more a winter sport than swimming or basketball. Flag wavers and majorettes all do their thing outside all summer and fall at football games and parades too. So what makes this different?

If you want to call it a sport...go right ahead.
