  1. Yes.

Knowledge is a power.  Experience is a power.

Knowledge and experience, without wisdom, are wasted power.

Wisdom knows how to put  things together and wisdom does not come at an 'age'.

Some are born wise without knowledge.

Some are born wise without experience.

Most gain wisdom through years of knowledge and experience.

Just because a person is old doesn't mean they are wise anymore than just because a person is young  doesn't mean that they aren't wise.

    Do you understand?

  2. It is one which is wielded indirectly.

  3. I suppose it could be, if it's used right,

    Wisdom comes from age,

Age come from the miles you do,

The miles you do, comes from experience,

    experience comes from learning,

Learning comes from, a want / thirst for knowledge,

A want / or thirst of knowledge comes from growing up,

So once you've grown up, got you knowledge from learning, used your learning to gain experience, used that experience, to go all those miles, then you can use your age to get wisdom, (maybe to make your money, too much money, makes you greedy, and greed / money is the route to all evil, and being evil can make you powerful, etc, etc, etc),  to if you use it right to maybe get the power you want.  That's if you want to use wisdom to get you money, to get greedy to get evil, to get power...

  4. if you refer wisdom as power then it is not power.  Referring wisdom as such power involves being in power over something and over someone, which defeats the idea of wisdom.  That is just mere knowledge.

Having wisdom is to be awaken, aware, to be conscious, to transcend, not just for yourself but for all sentient beings.  If one says I'm Powerful then it is ego, and it is a defilement which couldn't be called as such with wisdom.

  5. It used to be in the distant past.......until MEDIA came along!

Now it seems only money and fame constitute power. Look at how crazy the fans and paparazzi run around on feet and wheels, chasing after the Beatles, Princess Diana, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and others.

There had been numerous sad events of libraries and  books being burnt, and teachers being ostracized or  killed, over the past century. For political reasons, having too much 'knowledge, experience or wisdom' that are not in agreement with the new leadership, especially in a non-democratic society, is a fatalistic situation. Even in day-to-day living among ordinary citizens, more than 75% of people have the herd instinct, therefore not belonging to the 'wisdom' category.

Strange enough, the ordinary folk doesnt respect wisdom among friends or acquaintances. The only instance i see wisdom being appreciated is grandchildren and younger relatives paying their respects towards the old patriarch or matriarch of the extended family. So i would say that wisdom nowadays is more a forlorn and neglected thing rather than a power to be pursued only by a wise few.
