Is wispering in the ear allowed in a gathering ?

well i was warning my mother not to compliment me as i had already agreed with some ladies that i would drop them home and told them we have no work after leaving .

If so Islam must be very confusing. Not to say that other religions aren't just funny no whispering allowed. Is your mom a nonbeliever?

It is not allowed because others in the group might think you are talking about them or backbiting.

I can't recal the hadith but I think there is a hadith that forbids this.

It's definitely not allowed, however I don't remember the Hadith that states that.. It's like talking with ur language with someone while u r in a middle of a group who don't speak that language..

It is Makrooh unless it is urgent. this rule is to avoid hurting the feelings of the rest of the group.
