  1. if your in the uk they now have seperate sections at you local tip for many things: wood, metal, paper etc....

if in doubt google your local recycle center it should tell you there what can and cant be recycled

  2. make it into something new like a cabinet or shelfs

  3. Recycle by offering any item to others free,so they can have the pleasure and use of it.

Freecycle.com is a good place to pass on still useful items.

  4. Yes wood is most definitely recyclable, you can make many things from wood.  You should check out this company in Northern Ireland.  They are called (TREE) This stands for Tree Recycling Eco Enterprise.

They make beautiful carvings made from recycled trees I would even say they could take your entertainment centre as it was first made from trees.

Any Carvings you buy, all the money goes back into the environment to grow new trees, even if you don't buy anything they have lots of Handy tips.

    Hope this Helps.

  5. you can use the wood if flat to make shelves with for the shed or garage

  6. Don't forget that since wood is carbon neutral yoy dont have to recycle it, it will rot naturally and produce habitats for loads of wildlife whilst its rotting.

If you have kids they'll love searching under and around it for creepy crawleys, and you'll get loads of different bird species coming to eat the bugs.

  7. YES, wood IS recyclable. Take it to you local council tip, they have a section for wood.

  8. yes

  9. The most common wood recycling processes are as woodchip mulch, chipboard, or paper.

Architectural wood is cleaned, smoothed and resold.

  14. Yes.

  15. don't burn it waxes, paints, glues, and god knows what else might be in the product .Advertise it as an antique wooden entertainment for free you should get some interest(you said it was old)

  16. Yes wood can be recycled.

It will be smashed and chipped and turned into MDF or chipboard.

  17. Don't burn it, it's probably painted MDF and will release toxic fumes. Take it to your dump and let them take care of it.

  18. yes you can

  19. yes of course.

they are being made into wood floor tiles, papers, furniture, mats, .......

  20. If you can shred it, just put the shredded bits into your composter and let the little wormies do their thing.

  21. Phone your local college/uni art department, they are always desperate for materials! Seriously, people paint on ANYTHING.Or paint on it yourself!

  22. Yes you can recycle it, if you get it shredded you can use it for the garden   or go to a special place for making it into sawdust for pet animals bed cover

  23. Of course it is!

I once had this useless Tree (meh) and turned it into a much more handy Table!

  24. Advertise if for free in your local trade or newspaper.  Someone may be able to use it, either as an entertainment center or remake it into something else.  And you can always take it to Goodwill, Salvation Army, or St. Vincent DePaul, they make money off these things and help poor or disabled people.  Always donate, if you can't sell or use!

  25. Great question! I had an old cabinet that was a bit past it, so I gave it to my rabbit to run about in =) She lives in my conservatory and builds little nests inside it now, also loves chewing the wood to bits. Ask around your friends that own pets, maybe they'd be happy to take it off your hands. Good luck!!

If you're in the UK you could try advertising it on ....

    http://www.freecycle.org/

  26. I dont know but you could always put it up on freecycle. That is a way of recycling it. Or you could take it to a charity shop.

    Good luck

  27. burn it in a fireplace / wood burning stove  then put ashes in garden for fertalizer

  28. I know a green, type business in East London, with a web site, www.citywood.co.uk  .  They recycle old wood, tree trunks, etc - perhaps they may

  29. if you cannot fix it burn it the ashes make good compost for the garden

  30. This type of wood is not recyclable because it contains formaldehyde.  Don't burn it, since it would be toxic.
