Is word 2008 compatable with older versions?

When trying to send an attachment from Word 2008 at home- to office that has Word 2002, there seems to be an error. Is there compatability issues?

Word 2007 is the latest edition. Your problem is not translating Word 2007 to 2002, which is possible, but translating 2002 to an edition beyond that, may not be possible. Call any Office Depot, or Office Max store and they can tell you fer sure.
