Is word of mouth more important than the truth?

Is what you have hear more important than the truth?

Tough question.

It depends on all sorts of variables. For instance, if your goal was to start a revolution, to that end, the truth is hardly important at all. What is important is people are influenced to act in a particular manner.

However, if you want to know something concrete, the truth is more important. For example, your car is either red, or some other color. What word of mouth is about its color, is irrelevant to the truth/fact.

Well most times telling the truth is a good thing and letting the person you are talking to what you think instead of lying to him/her about what you really think. If you don't tell the truth sometimes you feel guilty about it so i would say the truth is much better than word of mouth!!
